Loren D. Edwards, 88, of Battle Creek, died June 11, 2017. Loren was born November 15, 1928 in Battle Creek to Burton L. and Maude (Ladley) Edwards. He graduated high school and served his country honorably in the United State Army. Loren held many jobs, but retired from the Kellogg Company in plant services.
Loren had many hobbies, including golfing, bowling, hunting, fishing, coin collecting, gardening and working with his rose bushes. He was a big history buff and loved studying about wars and racing. He was a member of the Battle Creek Corvette Club, the Battle Creek Historical Society and the Model Air Plane Club. Loren followed politics very closely. He also enjoyed building projects and tinkering with cars and house hold items.
Loren is survived by his son, Scott Edwards; a nephew, Duke Edwards and two grandchildren, Geoffrey Edwards and Jonathon "Cody" Edwards. Loren was preceded in death by his loving wife, Miriam Edwards in 2016.
Funeral services to celebrate Loren's life will be 12:00 p.m., Thursday, June 15, 2017 at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, officiated by Rev. Ronald Anderson. Interment with full military honors will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 14 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
