Lorena Louise "Sue" (Willavize) Bower

Lorena Louise "Sue" (Willavize) Bower, age 63, of Battle Creek died peacefully on Thursday morning, September 26, 2013. She was born in Battle Creek on July 13, 1950, the loving daughter of William Edward and Frances Jean (Kirsch) Sherlin and graduated from Battle Creek Central High School with the Class of 1968.

Sue was preceded in death by her husband, John Gary Bower; a son, Kevin Bower and a grandson, Tilyr Bower. She is survived by her children, Becky S. (Brian) Vinyard of Battle Creek, Michael "Mike" Willavize II. of Battle Creek, Todd Bower of Hastings, Jeffrey Bower of Hastings and Shawn Bower of Middleville; her grandchildren, Brian R. (Nicole) Vinyard, Justin Burke, Breanna Vinyard, Dylan Horning, Prescott Bower, Abigayl Bower, Mikayla Bower, Shiyla Bower, Brandon Bower, Jakob Bower, Brady Bower, Addison Bower, Jessica Slater ; her great-grandchildren, Micalla, Brian Jr. and Briley Vinyard; a sister, Laura Smith; two brothers, Jerry Sherlin and William "Bill" Sherlin II.; six nieces & nephews, William Sherlin III., Cheryl Smith, Paul Sherlin, Kelly (Jason) Woytal, Mark Sherlin, Jamie Smith, as well as her great nieces & nephews.

Sue had a great love for her family and enjoyed spending as much time with them as she could. She also enjoyed flower gardening, reading and NASCAR, but especially was a fan of Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt Jr. Sue also had a love for country music and of course, her favorite band "Alabama".

A visitation will be held 1:00 to 3:00 and 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, September 30, 2013 at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home, where funeral services to celebrate Sue's life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 1, 2013. Interment will follow at Reese Cemetery. Sue loved her animals and therefore the family asks that those wishing to make memorial contributions please consider the Humane Society of South Central Michigan.
