Loretta Jane Lybarger

Loretta "Jane" (Muraski) Lybarger, age 88, of Battle Creek, passed away surrounded by her family on Friday, March 17. 2017. She was born on October 12, 1928, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, to the late John and Sophie (Pawlak) Muraski. Jane married Clyde Arthur Lybarger on April 23, 1949, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on November 12, 2011. Jane and her husband owned and operated American Cleaners from 1972 until her retirement in 2002. She was an avid reader, she loved to bowl, golf and play cards with family and friends, and loved teasing her great-grandson John and was a member of St. Philip Catholic Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Kay (Lybarger) Perkins of Battle Creek; her granddaughters, Lisa Marie Perkins (Phil) Granish , Denise Lynette Perkins, both of Battle Creek; her grandson, Wesley Adam (Carrie) Perkins of Battle Creek; four great-grandchildren, John Michael DeVonce of Battle Creek, Danielle Jean "DJ" Terrell of Fort Myers, Florida, Brandon Joseph Ray Moore of Battle Creek and Elizabeth Theora Rae "Lizzie" Moore of South Bend, Indiana; her sisters, Mary Ann Szela, Evelyn Engebritsen, Carole Wakeman, and her brother, Donald Muraski.

She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Michael Lee Perkins; her twin brother, Lawrence James Muraski; her brothers, Edward Muraski, Robert Muraski, and Leo Muraski; her sisters, Josephine Diedrich, Betty Van Erem, Dorothy Davis, Lillian Szela, and Eleanor Truskowski.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 22, 2017. from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, where the Parish Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. José Haro at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at St. Philip Roman Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
