Louetta N. (Simpson) Kier of Battle Creek, MI
Louetta, age 92, died Friday morning, May 24, 2019 at her residence. She was born December 20,1926, the daughter of Tom and Irene Simpson in Rae, Missouri.
She was united in marriage to Clifford E. Kier on August 11, 1945. Clifford was in the U.S. Navy, and they lived at several duty stations before finally settling in Battle Creek, Michigan.
She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior in 1955.
She was a stay-at-home mom and volunteered her time to her church doing such things as teaching Sunday School, working in the nursery and serving as Sunday School secretary. Louetta enjoyed reading, sewing and attending church. She also loved dogs.
She was proceeded in death by her husband of 55 years, Clifford Kier; mother, Irene Simpson; brother, Wayne Simpson and father, Tom Simpson.
She is survived by daughters, Kim Ducker and Krea (Rick) Gregory, both of Battle Creek; grandchildren, Josh (Tammy) Ducker and Liberty (Jason) Moore; great-grandchildren, Gabrielle Ducker, Lillian Moore, Egan Moore, Noah Ducker and Vivian Moore.
The Funeral Service to celebrate Louetta's life will be held on Thursday, May 30th at 10:00 a.m. at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek with the Rev. James Glidewell, Pastor of the Amazing Grace Baptist Church of Kalamazoo, officiating. Louetta's family will greet friends on Thursday one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Private, family interment will be in Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, MI following the funeral service.
