Louis G. Sari, age 92, of Bellevue, NE, and formerly of Battle Creek died Tuesday, November 29, 2016. He was born in Bellevue, MI on March 16, 1924, the loving son of Louis and Julia (Folenta) Sari and attended St. Philip Catholic High School. Louis served his country as a member of the United States Army from 1943 â 1946, and retired from the Kellogg Co. in 1987.
In 1948, Louis married the "Love of His Life", Amelia Popovich in Battle Creek; she sadly preceded him in death on January 4, 2012. He is survived by his children, Louis R. (Robyn) Sari of Bellevue, NE, Becky Wickham of Battle Creek, and Andrea (Tracy) Grant of Toledo, OH; six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Louis was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Margaret Jacobs, Helen Kennedy, Yolanda Schrader, and his brother, Frank Danku.
Louis was a member of the Kellogg 25-Year Club, the former Springfield Lions Club, American Legion Oscar Brady Post #298 (Battle Creek), and the Elks Battle Creek Lodge #131. Louis' favorite hobby was deer hunting. He was very good at playing the guitar, and also enjoyed archery, gardening, golf, telling jokes, and loved spending time with his family.
The family will receive friends 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek where a Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday. Interment with full military honors will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to VNA Hospice 12565 W.
