Loyal D. Wood

Loyal D. Wood, 80, of Battle Creek, died December 6, 2021. Loyal was born December 8, 1940 in Battle Creek to Leslie and Minnie (Cross) Wood. Loyal served honorably in the U.S. Army and worked many years as a custodian at Lakeview Public Schools.

Loyal loved bowling, baseball, Nascar and wrestling. He also enjoyed coaching sports. Loyal was a proud member of the Eagles Lodge, PNA Lodge and American Legion.

Loyal is survived by his daughter, Jackie Wells; three sons, Jackson (Tracy) Wood, Johnny (Stacey) Wood and Thomas (Sarah) Wood; five grandchildren and a sister, Joyce Mead. He was preceded in death by his wife, Crystal; two brothers, Dean and Gerald Wood and once grandchild.

A graveside service to celebrate Loyal's life will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 28, 2021 in the Chapel at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care. Personal messages for the family may be placed at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.
