Lucille Frances Hicks

Lucille F. Hicks, age 88, of Battle Creek passed away Thursday evening, January 15, 2015 at Select Specialty Hospital. She was born in Ingalls, Arkansas on January 23, 1926, the loving daughter of Simmie and Hattie (Raburn) Harrod.

Lucille married Jesse L. Hicks on September 1, 1945; he sadly preceded her in death on January 7, 2002. Lucille is survived by her son, Simmie Hicks and his wife, Cindy; daughter-in-law, Jackie Hicks; 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren. Lucille was also preceded in death by 2 sons, Jesse & Mark Hicks; a granddaughter, Karen Robbins and her husband, Tom; a great-grandson, Jesse Hicks IV.; a great-great grandson, Gavin Martinez; 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

A true family matriarch, Lucille's love for her family was truly amazing. She loved spending time with her family and always looked forward to the next family event and taking her great-great grandchildren to the park. She also enjoyed puzzles, reading and the Saturday night races at the Galesburg Speedway.

A visitation will be held 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, January 18, 2015 at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home. Funeral services to celebrate Lucille's life will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 19, 2015 at the Fort Custer National Cemetery.
