Lynn A. Fredenburg

Lynn A. Fredenburg, age 93, of Climax, went to be with his Lord & Savior on Friday evening, September 1, 2023.  He was born in Battle Creek on October 21, 1929, the son of Lavern and Martha Agnes (Coats) Fredenburg.  Lynn worked for 21 years as a supervisor at the Battle Creek Enquirer and then 26 years at General Motors, retiring in 1992.   

Lynn was a Born Again Christian, a former member of Green Meadows Bible Baptist Church of Comstock, and also attended the Urbandale Baptist Church.  He was a former Cub Scout Master and volunteered for “SOWERS” (Servants On Wheels Ever Ready), who helped kids at camp.  He was also a long-time volunteer “Bingo caller” in the Maple Grove unit at the Calhoun County Medical Care Facility 

Lynn married the “Love of His Life”, Corrine Marie Maifert in Bedford on August 7, 1948; she sadly preceded him in death on November 12, 2010 after more than 62 years.  Surviving are his two sons, Larry A. Fredenburg of Huntsville, TX and Gary L. (Robin) Fredenburg of Battle Creek; two daughters, Shirley Marie (Mike) Sofia of Grand Rapids, MI and Jackie Lynne (Dean) Rivard of Longview, TX; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; many loving nieces & nephews; and a special friend, Kim Flanders.  Lynn was also preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Fern Elizabeth Johnson.   

A private family service has been held.  Lynn’s family will receive friends 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Thursday, September 7^th at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek.
