Joyce Lynn Garrison, 68, of Battle Creek, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 12, 2020. Joyce was born October 16, 1951 to James and Nina (Garnett) Hutchings, she was a lifetime resident of Battle Creek. Joyce graduated from Harper Creek High School and soon after married her husband Max Garrison in 1971, they spent 29 years together before his passing in 2000. Joyce spent most of her life raising her children and caring for her handicap son. She was a devoted mother that would give her last dollar if they needed it and could be called at any time to help. In her younger years she spent a lot of time with her own mother, they loved to play Bingo and Bunco with friends. She enjoyed quilting/sewing and a fun day at the casino. She was a very social person and enjoyed having coffee and talking with friends. Again she was very giving and if someone asked for help she would find a way!

Her brothers Tim Hutchings and Mike Hutchings both of Battle Creek, her sisters Donna (Hutchings) Stork of Toledo, Ohio and Karen (Hutchings) Wertz of Nashville, MI. She was preceeded in death by her love Max Garrison, her parents James and Nina Hutchings and a brother James Hutchings.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service at Hicks Cemetery, will be held later in the year when we can safely gather again.
