M. Pearl Hickey

M. Pearl Hickey, age 101, of Battle Creek, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 2nd, 2022. She was born on July 29, 1920, the loving daughter of Archibold and Ada Otis.

Pearl married the "Love of Her Life", Donald Paul Hickey in 1943 in Boston, Massachusetts. They moved to Battle Creek, Michigan in 1967 where they raised their family and created a life together. Pearl was a long-time member of the First Presbyterian Church in Battle Creek and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Pearl loved reading and collecting Hummel figurines. She also enjoyed the company of her friends and attended many activities at the North Point Woods. She loved going to church on Sunday mornings and then going out to lunch with her friends. One of Pearls greatest gifts was showing the whole family that a good cup of tea can solve anything.

Pearl is survived by her children, Debbie (James) Symmonds, Linda (William) Sexton, Nancy (Richard) Clock and Joan (James "Mojo") Lengle; her sister, Carol Valentine; and 7 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Hickey; her parents; and her siblings, Donald, Stanley, Charles, Ruby and Marion.

Funeral services to celebrate Pearls' life will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 18, 2022 at Battle Creek Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements by Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care.
