Mabel Maxine (Sever) Milnes Baggerly, 96, of Battle Creek, died peacefully at the Oaks at NorthPointe Woods on Monday, March 30, 2015.
She was born December 2, 1918 in Lansing, Michigan to Arthur E. and Geneva (Cole) Sever. Mabel was raised in Lansing and was a graduate of Lansing Eastern High School. Mabel came to Battle Creek in the mid 1940's.
Mabel M. Sever was united in marriage to Dorian Jay Baggerly on January 12, 1946 in Battle Creek, Michigan. Mabel was preceded in death by her first husband, Forrest A. Milnes in February of 1941; by her second husband, Dorian on March 17, 1987; and by her sister, Bertha Head in 1999. Surviving are three sons, Bruce (Darla) Milnes of Battle Creek, Forrest (Scharlet) Milnes of Climax, James (Pat) Baggerly of Rickman, Tennessee; one daughter, Jayne (Ron) Cook of Battle Creek; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren.
Mabel was a member of 20th Street Church of Christ. She was an excellent cook, an avid reader and enjoyed bowling at M-66 Bowl with relatives in the Pennfield Teachers league. Mabel loved her family and dedicated her life to them.
Friends will be received by Mabel's family 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home. Funeral services will be officiated by Josh Hydrick at the funeral home 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 3, 2015. Interment will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.
