Mable C. Millsap, age 92, of Battle Creek went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, August 9, 2013. She left this world at her home, surrounded by family. Mable was born April 6, 1921 to Sidney and Neva (Ford) Williams in Lafollette, Tennessee. Mable married Leaondues Millsap, February 24, 1940, in Dayton, Tennessee and moved to Battle Creek that same year. They were married 54 years before his passing in 1994.
Mable was a homemaker who enjoyed Ballroom dancing, playing guitar, singing, crocheting, sewing, flower, fruit and vegetable gardening, and reading her Bible.
She is survived by a sister, Grace Hoffman, of Graysville, Tennessee; 2 daughters, Ruth (Earl) Dailey and Barbara C Stevens, both of Battle Creek; 6 grandchildren, Darrel (Carmeta) Dailey of Mississippi, David (Kathy) Dailey, Tracy Card, Teresa (Steve) Rangel, Lori (Robert) Ambler and Trina (John) Nichols, all of Battle Creek; 18 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Millsap; a brother, Harvey Williams; a sister, Edith Kuwata, 2 infant sisters, Odessa and Leona Williams and an infant daughter, Janet Millsap.
The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00p.m., Monday, August 12, 2013 at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home where funeral services to celebrate Mable's life will be held 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 13, 2013 with Rev. James Codde, officiating. Interment will follow at Reese Cemetery in Springfield. Memorial donations may be made to Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
