Marcia Ruth (Markos) Yaw

Grandma Marcia Yaw completed a life well lived and passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at the age of 77 years.

Marcia was born on August 30, 1940 in Battle Creek, MI to Rosemond (Drew) and Nicholas Markos. She graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1958 and married David Yaw on March 30, 1963. She worked many years at Shoppers Fair and EPI before retiring in 1988 to care for her many grandchildren to come. Marcia enjoyed spending time with family and friends playing bunco and bowling; many shopping, casino and vacation trips and raising her family at Lois Drive.

She absolutely loved spending time with her 8 grandchildren over the years doing arts & crafts, baking, playing games, puzzles, attending sports and dance events, hosting holidays and always giving to her family. She will be dearly missed by everyone who got to know her.

She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, David and her children, Stacy (Stan) Keagle of Battle Creek, MI, David (Necole) Yaw of Plainwell, MI and Gregory (Reem) Yaw of Grand Rapids, MI; and eight grandchildren – Adam, Jordan, Carter, Hogan, Maisy, Estella, Selena and Lainey. Marcia is also survived by her sister, Becky Warren; brothers Henry, Drew and Chris Markos and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Zara Markos, Nicolette Visker, Effie Theide, Violet Lee and Evelyn Miller; brothers, Jamie Markos and Ronnie Markos; and in-laws, Charles and Lucile Yaw.

Friends and Family will be received from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, July 22nd at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, where a funeral service to celebrate Marcia's life will be officiated by Pastor Rick Foster at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 23rd.
