Margaret E. "Peggy" Brumm

Margaret E. "Peggy" Brumm, age 76, of Battle Creek entered the Golden Gates and met her Heavenly Father at 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 21, 2020. She was born in Battle Creek on January 13, 1944, the loving daughter of Clyde and Barbara (Shepard) Whitehurst, and graduated from Battle Creek Central High School with the Class of 1962.

Peggy married the "Love of Her Life", Vernon E. Brumm at the Hope Church of the Nazarene in Battle Creek on April 6, 1963; he survives. She is also survived by her daughters, Liz (Daryel) Lawton, Elaine (Gordon) Blunt and Laurel (Bill Zalewski) Craddock; her grandchildren, Eric Lawton, Gordon Blunt II, Travis, Meghan & Shelby Craddock, Corey McGaha ,and Kathryn Lawton; eight great-grandchildren (and one on the way); and her sisters, Karyn (Harry) Cook, Sheila Rabbitt and Kathryn (Randy) Howard. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; and a brother, David Whitehurst.

Peggy raised her three daughters and some of her grandchildren. She actively attended the Battle Creek First Church of the Nazarene. Peggy loved going to church & camp meetings, and traveling with her family.

The family will receive 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 23rd at Farley Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek. Funeral services to celebrate Peggy's life will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 24th at Hope Church of the Nazarene 901 W. Michigan Avenue, Battle Creek. Interment will follow at Hicks West Pennfield Cemetery at 2:00 p.m., Friday. Memorials directed to the Battle Creek First Church of the Nazarene, 12866 Beadle Lake Rd. Battle Creek, MI 49017 and/or the Indian Lake Nazarene Camp, 8258 Victory St. Vicksburg, MI 49097, would be appreciated.
