Margaret A. (Doran) "Peggy" Crane

June 27, 1938 — December 6, 2021

Margaret Ann Crane "Peggy" age 83 of Battle Creek, was reunited with God and her best friend and husband, Bob on December 6th, 2021. Peggy was born in the Bronx New York, on June 27th, 1938 to Maurice and Mary (O'Connell) Doran.

Peggy married the love of her life, Bob on May 15th, 1965 in Holy Cross Catholic Church. Even with his passing she lived and loved every day waiting to see him again. Together they raised five children, son Tom (Deanna) grandchildren, Lauren, Sally, Abbie and Morgan; son Bill (Karene) grandchildren Kyle, Mitchell and Aubrie; daughter Alicia (Brent) grandchildren Ben, Gretchen and Kaitlyn; daughter Kate (Sara), daughter Eileen (Bob) grandchildren Jake, Jenna and Anastasia.

Peggy moved to Battle Creek in 1977, the one thing she brought with her and never lost was her Brooklyn accent. Everyone she met loved hearing her talk and she made many friends with her ability to tell a story or a joke! Her most endearing quality was her willingness to help others. Peggy was always there to lend her heart, whether it was to listen and care for a friend, help a family member in need, or a complete stranger. God blessed her with the gift of a giving unselfish heart, a gift that she was grateful for in everything she did.

Peggy loved spending time playing pinochle with her friends in Battle Creek and Gulf Shores, Alabama. She was an avid quilter, blanket maker and made some of the best dinners and desserts in all of Battle Creek! She will fondly be remembered for her love of scratch offs, lottery tickets and later in life being crowned queen of the Doran's a title she cherished!

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bob, sisters Mary, Kitty, Theresa, Eileen, Dolores; brothers Maurice, Peter, Michael and Tom. In addition to her children and grandchildren she is survived by her brother John and numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
