Marian, age 99, died Sunday afternoon, September 8, 2013 at the Calhoun County Medical Care Facility, Battle Creek.

Marian, the daughter of Guy and Frances (Towsley) Lininger, was born on December 24, 1913 in Springport, MI. She was a 1932 graduate of Springport High School. Marian had been employed at JC Penney's in Albion for many years; she had been a member of the Russian Church of Albion and later at the First Baptist Church of Albion.

On October 31, 1948, Marian was united in marriage to Peter Balashevech and he preceded her in death in May of 1987. Surviving are four nieces, JB (Randy) Balash-Bishop of Battle Creek, Pamela Balash of St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands, Loretta (Marvin) Deuel of Bergheim, TX and Nancy (Delton) Stuart of Tekonsha, MI; a nephew, George Lininger of FL and her brother-in-law, Nicholas Balash of Albion. Marian was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Harold Lininger.

A Private Family, Graveside Service to celebrate Marian's life was held in Clarence Center Cemetery, Springport, MI. The Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home, Battle Creek was in charge of all the arrangements.
