Marian Frances (Chilson) Uldriks of Battle Creek, MI
Marian was born August 19, 1918 and was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday morning, February 14, 2015 at her residence.
Among those Marian has joined in glory are her husband of nearly fifty years, Casper H. Uldriks; her daughter, Joyce Ellen Uldriks, who passed away July 27, 2014; her parents, Leon E. and Ella Lola (Gore) Chilson and her brother, Maurice A. Chilson. Marian is lovingly remembered by her sister, Eleanor M. Boston of Battle Creek; her daughters, Janet A. Fricano of Gun Lake, MI and Marilyn (Steven) Cagle of Muskegon, MI; her son, Casper E. Uldriks of Washington, D.C. and son-in-law, Alex Bowman, Jr. of Roanoke, VA. She is also remembered by her grandchildren, Mark (Kristen) Bowman, Tracy (Charles) Hawthorne, Jerry (Judy) Kline, Thomas (Andrea) Fricano, Jonathan (Amy) Lenz, Chad (Shasta) Lenz, Jennifer (Ron) Rose and Mark Cagle. Marian's great-grandchildren include Erica and Mark Bowman, Charles and Alex Hawthorne, Allison Kline, Amber and Kyle Wanamaker, Zane Lenz, Livia and Kaysen Lenz, Ryley and Clay Rose and four great great-grandchildren, Kassie, Aurora, Kemper, and Azlynn Wanamaker. Marian is also survived by three sisters-in-law, Geraldine Adcock, Wilmeta Uldriks, and Alice June Brown; one brother-in-law, Henry Uldriks and many nieces and nephews.
Marian was born in Battle Creek, MI and graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1936. She married Casper H. Uldriks on February 5, 1938, and they spent many summers at their cottage at Gun Lake with their four children entertaining family and friends. Marian sold real estate for the former Horton Agency and in 1973 graduated from the real estate program of the University of Michigan Extension Service. She was a Realtor Associate of the Battle Creek Board of Realtors from 1969 â 1976. Marian was a 66-year member of the First Presbyterian Church where she belonged to the Deborah Circle, a 62-year member of the Daughters of the American Revolution since 1953, a life member of the Battle Creek Historical Society and a member of the Battle Creek Health System Auxiliary. In December of 2010, Marian elected to live at NorthPointe Woods, where she enjoyed the last years of her life. Our family is very grateful for the kind, compassionate and respectful care given by the staff of Pineview Assisted Living and we thank them sincerely for all of the special attention and love given to our dearest mother. We also would like to thank Bronson at Home Hospice and personal care for the comfort they have provided for our mom and us for the last several weeks.
The Funeral Service to celebrate Marian's life will be held on Tuesday, February 17th at 1:00 p.m. in the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home, Battle Creek with the Rev. Patricia J. Weatherwax of the First Presbyterian Church of Battle Creek, officiating. Interment will follow at Bedford Cemetery. Marian's family will greet friends on Monday, February 16th from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
