Marilyn A. (Fitzgerald) Ewing

Marilyn Anne (Fitzgerald) Ewing, 87, a lifelong Battle Creek, Michigan resident died peacefully with her family at her side on Friday, August 26, 2022 at Glen Arbor Place.

Marilyn was born July 23, 1935 in Battle Creek, Michigan to Samuel A. and Florence (Olson) Fitzgerald. She grew up in Battle Creek and was a 1953 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School. Marilyn was employed at the Kellogg Company for 30 years in the Credit and Collections Department, retiring in 1990.

Marilyn Anne Fitzgerald was united in marriage to George W. Ewing on October 10, 1981 at Birchwood United Methodist Church. Surviving are her husband, George; children, Michael J. Beatty and Salli J. Beatty both of Battle Creek; Wende Askins of Warsaw, KY, Tom (Stephanie) Ewing of Middlebury, IN, Amy (Robert S.) Ewing DeVries of Boca Raton, FL; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren with another on the way. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Douglas Ray Ewing.

Marilyn was a former member of Birchwood United Methodist Church and Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Fort Lauderdale, FL. She was an excellent cook and baker and loved to feed her family and spend time together. Marilyn was an avid reader, enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles on line and keeping her flower garden beautiful. Marilyn and George Spent their winters in Florida and traveled extensively. She will be remembered as loving, kind, knowledgeable and really special with a great sense of humor.

Friends will be received 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Cremation Preneed Care, where a service to celebrate Marilyn's life will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2022. Committal and inurnment will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
