Marilyn J. Moody

Marilyn Jean (Brown) Moody, 84, of Battle Creek passed away on September 7th 2019 at her home, surrounded by her family

Marilyn was born July 4, 1935, the only daughter of Oris A. Brown and Elsie Elisabeth Springer (Brown) (Rogers).

She was a 1954 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School. While in high school, Marilyn worked at the S.S. Kresge Store in downtown Battle Creek. Marilyn also worked at the Battle Creek Gas Company, where she met Bob. She married Robert Ray "Bob" Moody on September 3rd of 1955 in Battle Creek. In 2001, Bob preceded her in death. Surviving are her children, a son, Kirk R. (Christine) Moody of Battle Creek; her daughter, Karen Lee (Rick) Estabrook of Holland, MI; grandchildren, Jada & Shawn Chadwick of Hastings, MI; Richard Moody of Largo, Florida; Kevin and Kali Moody of Battle Creek; Stacey Bloom of Battle Creek, Tina Gregory and Thomas Gregory both of Battle Creek and great-grandchildren, Michael Moody of Battle Creek and Johnathan Chadwick of Hastings.

Marilyn enjoyed being a homemaker, playing her organ, tending to her cats and gardening with Bob. She also enjoyed traveling and spending time at Fair Lake.

Marilyn's family will receive friends 4pm – 6pm, Tuesday, September 10th at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 105 Capital Ave. N.E. Battle Creek, MI. A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens, with Rev. James Sparks officiating.
