Marilyn M. Badger-Nelson, 82, of Bellevue formerly of Galesburg, died Friday, August 10, 2018 at Evergreen Manor. She was born January 18, 1936 in Battle Creek the daughter of Lavern Rounds and Margaret (Fettes) Brown and attended Battle Creek Central High School. Marilyn was a waitress for many years until she purchased and was co-owner of the 'Time Out Lounge' in Galesburg for 28 years.
Marilyn is survived by her daughters, Deborah Dyer of Battle Creek, Susan (Darrial) "Sue" Goss of Bellevue, Janet "Jan" Yingling of Galesburg; her son, Jack A. (Wendy)Badger Jr. of E. Leroy; seven grandchildren, Lisa (Essary) Clear, Justin Meniman, John Yingling II, Rich Merriman, Jessica Yingling, Jack A. Badger III and Chloe Badger; eleven great-grandchildren and twelve great-great-grandchildren & +3 on the way.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Sabrina Thayer; her husband Larry Nelson in 1993; two brothers, David and Lavern Rounds Jr. and a half-sister, Beverly Sergeant.
Marilyn enjoyed living on Cloverdale Lake, her pontoon boat, fishing, watching swans, taking care of her plants, and loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. She was a real people person and loved socializing with all her friends.
A visitation is planned with family and friends from 5-7 pm, Wednesday, August 15th at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 105 Capital Ave, NE, Battle Creek, MI 49017, where a funeral service will be held, 10:30 am Thursday, August 16, 2018 at the funeral home with Rev. Robert G. Muirhead officiating. Interment at West Pennfield, Hicks Cemetery.
