Marilynn S. (Shulters) Wondergem Gunning

Marilynn S. (Shulters) Gunning, 92 of Richland, MI died at the home of her daughter in Sturtevant, WI on Saturday, November 30, 2013.

Marilynn was born August 25, 1921 in Battle Creek to Ralph W. and Marion C. (Harbeck) Shulters. She was raised in Battle Creek and was a 1939 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School. Marilynn was employed in the offices at Clark Equipment Company for 25 years, until 1967.

Marilynn was previously married to Marvin J. Wondergem. She married A. Wayne Gunning on July 26, 1958. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne in 1999. Surviving are her son, Thomas (Kathy) Wondergem of Bradenton, FL; a daughter, Suzanne (Gary) Barney of Sturtevant, WI; a stepson, David W. (Joan) Gunning of Rochester Hills, MI; ten grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; four great great-grandchildren; a brother, Ralph (Elsie) Shulters of Battle Creek; sister-in-law, Delores Shulters of Battle Creek; a brother-in-law, Jack Palmer of Three Rivers; and many nieces, nephews cousins and their families. Marilynn was preceded in death by a baby sister, Elizabeth Ann Shulters; a grandson, Michael Wondergem; her parents; a sister, Louanne Palmer; and a brother, Charles Shulters.

Marilynn was a member of Yorkville Community Church and Guild; and the Clark Retirees Club. She was a former member of the First Congregational Church in Battle Creek. Marilynn loved spending time with family and her many friends. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, playing cards, fishing, gardening, poetry and writing.

Friends will be received 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday at Yorkville Community Church. Funeral services will be officiated by Pastor Shan Martin at Yorkville Community Church 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 6, 2013. Marilynn will be interred next to her husband, Wayne at Oak Hill Cemetery in Battle Creek.
