Marion K. "Molly" Smith of Battle Creek, MI

Molly, age 91, died Sunday morning, February 11, 2018 at her residence and following a brief illness.

Molly, the daughter of Joseph and Mae Adair, was born in London, England on December 10, 1926 and emigrated to this area in 1946. She was an excellent painter and was a Founding Member of the Battle Creek Society of Artists. Molly was a voracious reader, who was a constant visitor to the Willard Library of Battle Creek.

Molly was united in marriage to Giles Orton "Smitty" Smith in Falham, England on on July 29, 1945 and he sadly preceded her in death on January 4, 2007. Surviving is her son, Alan J. Smith of Battle Creek. Molly was also preceded in death by her parents and her son, James Smith on September 18, 1974.

The Memorial Service to celebrate Molly's life will be held on Monday, February 19th at 2:00 p.m. at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek with the Rev. Charlotte A. Ellison, M.Div., officiating. Interment will follow in Hicks Cemetery, Pennfield Township. Alan will greet friends on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Battle Creek Society of Artist, P.O. Box 841, Battle Creek, MI 49016.
