Marjorie "Marge" Louise Loder, age 83, of Battle Creek, died on Friday morning, November 15, 2013 at Providence Christian Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Zeeland, Michigan. Marge was born on December 27, 1929 in Indianapolis, Indiana and was the daughter of Elmer V. and Ruby C. Hylton. Marge moved to Battle Creek with her family and was a graduate of Lakeview High School. On November 12, 1952, in Angola, Indiana, Marge was married to Richard "Dick" Loder. Surviving is her husband of 61 years, Dick; her two daughters, Mrs. Debbie (Randy) Price of Holland, MI and Mrs. Cindy (Neal) Searle of Lake Orion, MI; her four grandchildren, Dr. Erin (Dr. Jason) Charnley; Mrs. Bri (Ryan) Reardon; Jessica and Kyle Searle; four great-grandsons, Carter and Cole Charnley and AJ and Andrew Reardon and soon to arrive great-granddaughter . She is also survived by her sister, Mrs. Marilyn Mossman of Towson, Maryland. Marge was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Eugene (Gene) Hylton and her son, Richard E. Loder II.
Marge was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family. She was always there for her daughters and grandchildren helping in any way that was requested. She worked in recent years as a product sales representative within the local Meijer stores where she made many new friends. She was a lifelong member and supporter of Lakeview Baptist Church. She served on various organizations with the church for many years. In her early years of marriage, she was a devoted stay at home Mom and housewife. Her family has long standing fond and deep memories of holidays and special occasions hosted by Mom. When her daughters were growing up, she was very involved with the Camp Fire Girls program in leadership positions and a great volunteer in their school activities and continued this effort for the next generation of grandchildren as well in their schools. Marge was an important, positive role model as a Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, teacher and friend to all that knew her. She will be forever loved and dearly missed by friends and family alike.
At the request of the family, they will receive friends on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 from 5:00 â 7:00 p.m. at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home where funeral services to celebrate Marge's life will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 20, 2013 with Pastor Adam Metzger of Lakeview Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Memorial contributions made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society â Michigan Chapter or the Lakeview Baptist Church, would be appreciated.
