Marjorie Marie (VanDyke) Peterson, age 91, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2022.
Marjorie was born on May 2, 1930 in Battle Creek to Shirley and Jennie (Talbot) VanDyke. She grew up in Wattles Park and was a lifelong resident of Battle Creek. She was formerly employed at Leila Hospital and the Kellogg Company. She also attended the Seventh-day Adventist Church downtown for over 15 years. On October 17, 1949, Marjorie was united in marriage to Richard E. Peterson. He preceded her in death on October 19, 2016.
Marjorie is survived by her children, Thomas "Tommy" Peterson, Robin (David Merriman) DeNicola, and Terry (Kelly) Peterson; grandson, Michael Sampson; many nieces and nephews and dog, Buster. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband, daughter, Lorie A. Salvat and infant son, Richard Peterson Jr.
In accordance with Marjorie's wishes, cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will be held for Marjorie, Richard, and their daughter, Lorie at a later date.
