Marjory J. Crandall, 79, of Battle Creek passed away at Heartland Health Care Center on Tuesday, December 17, 2013.
She was born March 27, 1934 in Midland, MI to Glenn and Dorris J. (Fisher) Rogers. At age ten, Marjory moved from Midland to Frankfort and was a 1952 graduate of Frankfort High School. She lived in Big Rapids one year, for 25 years in Kalamazoo and then in Battle Creek, while spending time in Frankfort throughout the years. Marjory was employed by 10th District Court, in the Family Division of 37th Circuit Court and by Battle Creek Civic Theater.
Marjory married Willard J. Crandall on February 16, 1962, and he preceded her in death on November 11, 1990. Surviving are a daughter, Donna J. (John) McNees of Battle Creek; two sons, David G. (Denna) Crandall of Battle Creek, Charles J. (Pamela) Crandall of Howell; five grandchildren, Steve Hoffman, Breyden Hoffman, Kirstin Hoffman, Audrey Forsberg, Kelly McNees; and a sister, Merieta Gilbert of Frankfort, MI. Marjory was also preceded in death by a sister, Kathleen Sillery.
Marjory was affiliated with a Baptist church in Frankfort, MI. She was a member of Burnham Brook Center and worked there as an employee for AARP. Marjory enjoyed ceramics, painting, plastic canvas, cooking and sewing. She had a second business, making spectacular wedding and birthday cakes. She loved teddy bears and kittens.
Friends will be received 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 19, 2013 and from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Friday at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home 1:30 p.m. Friday, December 20, 2013. Interment will be held for the family at West Pennfield Hicks Cemetery.
