Mark Kevin Young

Mark K. Young, 55, of Battle Creek died at Good Samaritan Hospice Residence on Friday, November 21, 2014.

Mark was born September 4, 1959 in Battle Creek, Michigan to Robert Raymond and Patricia E. (Ryan) Young. Mark grew up in Battle Creek and attended Lakeview High School, where he played baseball. He was employed for a personal and corporate security company and was wounded by a gunshot and disabled in 2001. Mark continued to work even after being disabled.

Surviving are his children, Kevin J. (Jessica) Young of Battle Creek, Shawn (Nicole) Young of By City, Christopher (Audrey) Young of Grand Rapids; four grandchildren, Jennifer, Jeremy, Chase and Macy; wife, Shawn Marie (Bianchetta) Young; his former wife and the mother of his children, Roxanne (Berg) Jones; his parents of Battle Creek; two sisters, Debbie Peck and Kathy Young both of Battle Creek; a brother, Robert E. Young of Springfield, MO; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and their families. Mark was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Orville and Elna Young, maternal grandparents, Edward and Margaret Ryan; a nephew, Ryan Young and a niece, Michelle Young

Mark enjoyed hunting, fishing, football and baseball. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
