Marshall D. Parsons, Jr.

Marshall Devon Parsons, Jr. was born on August 19, 1936 in Union City, Michigan. He graduated from Bronson High School in May of 1955. After graduating, Marshall worked on his family’s farm until joining the U.S. Army in March of 1959, earning many awards and accommodations. Marshall left the Army in July of 1968 when he started working for the Kellogg Company in their warehouse as a forklift driver for 28 years, retiring in September of 1996.

 Marshall started playing APA pool in the fall of 1995. At the time of Marshall’s passing, he was on the “Marlowes” pool team that played at the Icebrakers Lounge. Marshall earned many awards and trophies throughout his playing years.

 Marshall is preceded in death by his parents, Marshall D. Parsons, Sr. and Mary Parsons; his younger brother, James, who passed away as an infant; his wife, Margaret Ann Parsons and a stepson, John Floyd Lanko II. 

 A graveside service to celebrate Marshall’s life will be 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at Fort Custer National Cemetery.  Instead of flowers, please make a donation in Marshall’s honor to either the Wounded Warriors Foundation or to our local animal shelter.  Arrangements by the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home.  Personal messages for the family may be placed at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.
