Martin E. "Mike" Titus

Martin E. "Mike" Titus, 62, of Battle Creek died Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at his mother's home after a long illness.

Mike was born January 25, 1951 in Battle Creek to Gerald Edward and Jenny May (Hare) Titus. He was formerly employed at Memorial Park Cemetery and then provided Lawn Care Services independently. Mike was always good with his hands and enjoyed the challenge of fixing anything. When he was young he hung around a local service station and became a very good mechanic. Mike enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was always active and could not sit still. More than anything, he loved to drive around in his truck and while doing so he collected cans and salvaged other valuable scrap. He especially loved his children and grandchildren and was always generous to them.

Mike married Mary Ann Burbank on January 29, 1977 in Battle Creek. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann on September 23, 1995. Surviving are their children, Matthew (Samantha) Titus, C.J. (Shannon Craig) Titus and Cal (Jerika Howard) Titus all of Battle Creek; five grandchildren, Faith, Hope, Michael, Brooklynn and Julia Titus; his mother, Jenny M. Titus of Battle Creek; siblings, Jeff Titus, Larry Titus, David Titus, and Gary (Tania) Titus all of Battle Creek, Gerald E. (Carol) Titus of Horton, Randy (Brenda) Titus of Johnston Twp., Charlie (Cindy) Titus and Mary (Jim) McLeod of Bellevue; numerous nieces and nephews and their families. In addition to his wife, Mike was preceded in death by his father, Gerald and two adopted brothers, Andrew A Titus, Sr. and Andrew A. Titus, Jr.

Friends will be received 5:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 5, 2013. Interment will follow at West Pennfield Hicks Cemetery.
