Marvel J. Cross

Marvel J. Cross, 79, of Battle Creek, died August 6, 2023.  Marvel was born March 22, 1944 in Hastings, MI to Marlin and Martha (Cramer) Mead.  She graduated from Bellevue High School in 1963.  She worked at the former Two Johns and then Ritzee’s.  Most recently she had retired from the Pennfield McDonalds as a manager. 

Marvel loved to do crossword puzzles, arts and crafts, cooking, gardening and spending time with family.  She especially enjoyed her grandchildren. 

Marvel is survived by her daughter, Angela Cross; two sons, Mark and Terry Cross; grandchildren, Santella Cook, Nancy Bardoni and Garie Damer; great-grandchildren, Gracie Damer, Bailey Damer, Isabell Damer, Lilly Cook, Peyton Bardoni and Phoenix Bardoni and a sister, Sally (Kent) Coffman. 

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service to celebrate Marvel’s life will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 11, 2023 at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, starting at 10:00 a.m.  Personal messages for the family may be placed at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.
