Mary Margaret Laurain Cook

Mary Margaret Laurain Cook, 70, of Battle Creek passed away peacefully on September 13, 2026 to be with the Lord. Mary was born on October 31, 1955 in Battle Creek, Michigan.

Mary was an amazing mom and an unwavering, faithful Christian who always saw the best in people. Her faith was the foundation of her life, and she is now at peace with the Lord she loved and served so faithfully.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Dolores Esther Mitte Laurain Shea, Her father Joseph Patrick Laurain, her twin Joesph Patrick, her brother John Thomas, her sister Beth and granddaughter, Natalia.  

She is survived by her only son Nathan Laurain Sr., his wife, Heather Laurain; her 10 grandchildren: Nathan Laurain, Nadia Laurain, Serenity Laurain, Natalia Laurain, Gabriel Laurain, Aiden Laurain, Jullian Laurain, Skye Laurain, Caleb Sullivan, and Lilly Craighead; and her brothers and sisters: Teddy Laurain, David Laurain, Dee Ann Gray, JoDee Higgs, Jeana Thurman and Nancy Laurain-Martin, along with many nieces and nephews, and extended family members and friends.

Her legacy of faith, love, and compassion will live on through her family. She will be forever in our hearts.
