Mary Lou J. Woolf peacefully passed away on April 6, 2024 with her family by her side. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Melvin Woolf; her daughters, Kathleen Woodhouse and Karen Woolf and her son, Kenneth Woolf. She was preceded in death by her son, Clark Woolf and sister, Linda Milley.

Mary Lou was born in Detroit on October 25,1938 and lived in Kalamazoo/Richland all her life. She was a graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School.

Mary Lou was a decades-long officer at Woolf Excavating, Incorporated, a long-time member of the Gull Lake United Methodist Church, The Red Hat Society and Youth for Christ. She also helped support the Vine Street Neighborhood Association.

Mary Lou loved spending time with her eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, playing cards and avidly reading just about any book.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Medical Team Hospice (medicalteam.com/hospice) or the Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org).

A memorial service will take place on Friday, April 12, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Gull Lake United Methodist Church.  Arrangements by the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Richland Chapel.  Personal messages for the family may be placed at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.
