Mary Jean Neitzel

Mary Jean Neitzel age 91, of Battle Creek passed away Thursday evening, December 2, 2021 at Bronson Battle Creek Hospital. She was born in Bremen, Indiana on March 15, 1930. Mary married Rolf K Neitzel in South Bend, Indiana on April 17, 1970. Mary and her husband Rolf owned and operated the "Olde Bakeri Haus" in Battle Creek for twenty years. Mary loved people. She was interested in everyone and always wanted to help family and friends through lifes challenges. Mary enjoyed reading, gardening, collecting bears and precious moments.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Edith Weise, her son, Brian Neitzel; her grandson, Damon Neitzel; her brother, Devon Weise; and her niece, Kathy Bernstein. She is survived by her husband, Rolf K Neitzel; her sons, Clark (Amy) Neitzel of Waterloo, Illinois and David Neitzel of Battle Creek; her grandchildren, Jason (Melissa) Neitzel, Tim (Amana) Neitzel, Nick Neitzel, Kristine (Trevor) Holliday, and Danielle Neitzel; her great grandchildren, Noah, McKinlley, Calvin, Addison, Gracen, Caiden; her sister Carol Emerson; her nephews, Terry Emerson, Wayne Weise, Mike Weise; and niece, Vickie Kohler.

At Mary's request, cremation has taken place and a private family memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mary's honor to the Shriners Hospitals for Children. Arrangements by Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek.
