Mary Elizabeth (Goff) Scheinfeldt

Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandma and Great-Grandma, Friend

It is with deep sorrow and love that we announce the passing of Mary Elizabeth (Goff) Scheinfeldt, who left this world peacefully on April 8, 2025 at the age of 77.

Born on July 7, 1947 in Wauseon, OH to Fred and Janet (Jackman) Goff. Mary graduated from high school in Douglas, AZ. After graduation, Mary moved to Hawaii with her family. She lived a life full of grace, kindness, and quiet strength.

While attending the University of Hawaii she met her beloved husband, Ed, and upon graduation they were married on May 27, 1973 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Aiea. They lived in Hawaii until March of 1977 when they relocated to Battle Creek, MI on a “three-year assignment”. Mary was a stay-at-home Mom to her two children until they were in elementary school. Upon re-entering the workforce, she ultimately settled into a role at the Federal Center where she worked until retirement in 2005. She dedicated herself to her family and friends, always placing the needs of others before her own.

Mary was a very talented seamstress, crafter and quilter sharing her abilities with those in the community as well as designing things for her home and loved ones. She and Ed were also heavily involved with First Presbyterian Church in Battle Creek.

She is survived by husband Ed Scheinfeldt, children Jennifer McLachlan of Battle Creek and Eric (Jenny) Scheinfeldt of TX, grandchildren Allisyn, Devon, Samantha and Liam, plus 5 amazing great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Scott (Melody) Goff of WA.
