Mary Elizabeth (VanDongen) Uldricks of Battle Creek, MI
Mary, age 82 died Wednesday afternoon, January 29, 2014 at Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence of Battle Creek and surrounded by her loving family.
Mary, daughter of Frederick and Ruth (Palmer) VanDongen, was born on April 16, 1931 in Battle Creek; was a lifetime area resident and was a 1949 graduate of Battle Creek Central high School. She had been employed as a Dental Assistant for more than 12 years with Dr. Earl Gable of Battle Creek. Mary had been a member of First Wesleyan Church of Battle Creek and now, The Gathering of Battle Creek. She loved to sew, knit and crochet when not busy being a Mom and Grandma, which she thoroughly enjoyed!
Mary was united in marriage to the love of her life, Dale E. Uldricks on September 14, 1950 in Battle Creek. Surviving is her husband of 63 years, Dale; her daughter, Sandra Jean (Randolph) Sly of Potomac Falls, VA; two sons, Martin John Uldricks and Stephen Dale (Theresa) Uldricks, both of Battle Creek; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and her brother, Jack (Charlene) VanDongen of Ft. Pierce, FL. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Bruce VanDongen.
The Funeral Service to celebrate Mary's life will be held on Tuesday, February 4th at 10:30 a.m. at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home, Battle Creek, with the Rev. Robert L. Zuhl, officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Battle Creek. Friends will be received on Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
