Matthew Crooks, 22, of Battle Creek died unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, November 3, 2015.
He was born July 13, 1993 in Battle Creek, Michigan to Warren John and Christine Sue (Daniel) Crooks, Jr. Matt grew up in Battle Creek and was a 2011 graduate of Lakeview High School. He loved his job in Forging at Musashi Auto Parts in Ft. Custer Industrial Park.
Surviving are his father, Warren John Crooks, Jr. "Chip"; mother and stepfather, Christine and Matt Salchert; fiancée, Alyssa Seume; sister and brother-in-law, Melissa and Justin Etheridge all of Battle Creek; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and his niece, Brylee Etheridge.
Matt loved music and playing his guitar, ukulele, and harmonicas. He enjoyed vacationing and traveling. Matt cared deeply about people and always wanted to find a way to help those in need. He was entertaining and he loved to find a way to make you laugh.
Friends will be received 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care. A memorial service in memory of Matt will be held at Victory Life Church; 6892 D Drive North, Battle Creek, MI 49014, 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 11, 2015.
