Matthias David Ross was born an angel on February 12, 2015 to parents Nathan and Stacy Ross at Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo. He weighed 4 pounds and 12 ounces and was 18 inches long. Matthias David is our 'gift from God' and 'beloved' by everyone who knew him. Matthias' family was blessed with time to meet him. He was held by his mommy, daddy, and grandparents, loved by his curious big brother Wyatt, prayed for by family and friends, and told repeatedly how much he was loved. Matthias will always remain his parents' precious baby and Wyatt's little brother, and they will hold him again in Heaven one day.


Matthias is survived by his parents Nathaniel and Stacy (Sommerfeld) Ross of Hastings, MI; his big brother, Wyatt; his paternal grandparents, Robert and Mary Ross of Iowa City, IA; his maternal grandparents Thomas and Christine Sommerfeld of Princeton, WI; his uncle and aunt, Jess and Amanda (Ross) Lovetinsky of Iowa City, IA; his great grandpa, Loy (Toad) Corwin of Carmi, IL and many other loving family members.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 16th at 4:30 p.m. in St. Ann Catholic Church, 12648 East D Avenue, Augusta, MI with Father James F. Adams, Celebrant and Deacon Michael A Carl, Assisting. Matthias' family will greet friends after the Mass in the Church Social Hall. Additional services and burial will take place in Iowa City, IA. The Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home, Richland Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
