Maxine C. Brown

Maxine C. Brown, age 91, of Battle Creek passed away peacefully on Wednesday afternoon, October 25, 2017. She was born March 8, 1926, the loving daughter of Claude A. and Muriel R. (Wright) Brown. Maxine retired from Michigan Carton after more than 44 years of faithful service.

Maxine is survived by her two sisters, Arlene (Robert) Moore and Ardith Rastoskey; her special caretaker and niece, Starla Thompson; and several other nieces & nephews. She was sadly preceded in death by her parents; three brothers & a sister, Maynard Brown, Wayne Brown, Jerry Brown, and Margaret Jessup.

Maxine enjoyed gardening, fishing, caring for her house and yard, and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. She also enjoyed traveling and wintering for many years at her mother's home in New Port Richey, Florida.

Funeral services to celebrate Maxine's life will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 30, 2017 at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care where the family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Monday.
