The Lord called Maxine up to Heaven to be with him, her family and friends on June 15, 2023.

Maxine was born on Feb 28, 1929 in Goshen Indiana to Byron (Buster) Stevens and Katherine Steward. Maxine was married twice, the first to Andrew (Bud) Brown Jr. Their marriage ended in divorce.  She later married Jesse Morgan, on October 24 1981. She was truly happy with Jesse.

Maxine is survived by her daughter Autumn (David) Tendziegloski, two grandsons, Ryan and Samuel Tendziegloski, four great-grandchildren, Isabella, Nevaeha, Samuel and Olivia and also her loving dog Cup Cake. She loved people and took pride in helping others, she cherished all time spent with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and the people she cared about.

After high school and business college her family moved to Athens, Michigan where she worked and retired from the school system.  She later moved to Springfield Michigan where she led reading groups at Valley View Elementary. She was very pleased to work with the reading group for 20 years.  She really cared about all her students she had throughout the years. Maxine also was very proud to have served the citizens of Springfield for many years on the planning commission and later city council.

She is proceeded in death by her husband, both her parents, and her siblings.

A celebration of life will be held Friday, July 7, 2023 at 11:00 am, at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 105 Capital Ave NE, Battle Creek, MI 49017. This will be followed by a luncheon at St. Mark Lutheran Church at 114 East Minges Road, Battle Creek, MI 49015.
