Michael William "Mike" Kuhn

January 13, 1955 — November 14, 2021

Michael William Kuhn, Sr., 66 of Augusta, died at Bronson Methodist Hospital on Sunday, November 14, 2021, after a three-week battle with COVID 19.

Mike was born January 13, 1955 in South Haven, Michigan to Arthur Dean and Dorothy E. (Janosky) Kuhn. As a sixth grader he moved with his family to Galesburg, Michigan, where he was a 1973 graduate of Galesburg-Augusta High School. In 1982, Mike established Kuhn's Yard & Garden Care, Inc. It became a family business, with his wife, son and grandson. As the staff grew, the company grew to include landscaping, lawn mowing, cemetery care, snow plowing and excavation. Mike was always very concerned about providing the customer the best results possible. Mike instilled the importance of that workmanship in everyone he trained.

Mike met Connie Ann McMichael his freshman year and they became high school sweethearts. As everyone knows Mike had an infectious happy smile and that's what caught Connie's eye. Mike and Connie were united in marriage on June 15, 1974 at Galesburg Congregational Church. Surviving are Connie, his wife of 47 years; children, Michael William (Anna) Kuhn, II of Augusta, Heather Ann (Brad Vary) Kuhn of Battle Creek, Veronica (Mike Limberios) Town of Castalia, OH, Tess Town of Augusta, Mike (Alex Yale) Town of Augusta; grandchildren, Lena Alice Kuhn, Holland Elizabeth Kuhn; great-grandchildren, Ann-Marie Holwerda, Journee McQuern, Michael Kaden Kuhn, and a sister, Judy (Mike) Duncan of Comstock. Mike was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dennis Kuhn.

Mike was a hard-working, intelligent man, whether it was on a job, chasing parts or teaching the staff how to service and fix equipment to reduce the cost of operation. He highly appreciated his customer's business throughout the years. He enjoyed motorcycles, snowmobiling, travel vacations with his family, camping or just enjoying the outdoors. Mike was planning to retire this December and was training his grandson to manage the family business. Mike was always kind, considerate, loving and concerned about others. He loved spending time with his family. Mike will be remembered as an honest, hard-working man with his undeniable love for Connie.
