Michael "Mikey" Latty

Michael Earle "Mikey" Latty, age 45, of Climax sadly passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at the University of Michigan Hospital, Ann Arbor from complications of a very courageous and long fought battle with Leukemia through which Mikey has inspired many. Mikey was born in Battle Creek on November 8, 1969, the loving son of F. John Repec & Lois C. Latty, and was a member of the Battle Creek Central High School Class of 1988.

Mikey married his loving wife, Kristin Marie (Allard) Henning at their home in Climax on February 10, 2012; she survives. He is also survived by his amazing daughter, Meagan M. Latty of Climax; his step-children, Kacey & James Henning, both of Climax; his mother, Lois Latty; his step-mother, Ginger Repec; his brother, Eric (Marie) Repec and many cherished friends. Mikey was preceded in death by his by his dad, John Repec in 2011.

Mikey's true passions in life were his family, his friends, and of course, his music. An incredibly talented musician, Mikey's love for music has truly benefited our local music community. Over the years, Mikey has played with many area bands, most recently as the drummer with his band, "Unhinged". Outside of his love for music, Mikey loved tinkering with "His Toys", and spending time with his family and many friends.

Mikey's family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 29, 2015 at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home, Battle Creek where funeral services to celebrate Mikey's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Dennis Siddall of the North Avenue Church of God, officiating. The family and friends will continue the celebration of Mikey's life immediately following the service at The Music Factory, 191 Angell Street, Battle Creek, MI 49037. Interment will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 30, 2015 at the Prairie Home Cemetery in Climax.
