Emblem

Michael "Boo Boo" Roland Marsh, 77, of Battle Creek, Michigan, went to his heavenly home on June 1, 2026, surrounded by comfort and peace.

Mike was born on December 17, 1948, in Battle Creek, Michigan, to Roland and Anne Mae (Chamberlain) Marsh. He was known for his athletic spirit, sense of humor, and deep love for family and friends. Mike graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1967. He later attended Western Michigan University and Central Michigan University. During his short time living in Florida, he also completed a mixology certification program.

Mike proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1967-1970. He was stationed at Fort Gordon, Georgia, and completed a tour in Vietnam. He was the recipient of numerous military honors, including the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Unit Citation, Expert Rifle Badge, Combat Infantryman's Badge, Parachutist Badge, Air Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Purple Heart. Throughout his civilian career, Mike worked for local employers, including Eaton Corporation, Bill Knapps, HI-LEX, Post, and Kia.

On May 4, 2002, Mike married the love of his life, Terri (Thomas) Marsh. Together they shared many wonderful years filled with love, laughter, faith, and treasured memories. Together, they faithfully attended church, where they enjoyed worship, fellowship, and growing in their faith. Mike’s relationship with Jesus Christ was an important part of his life and brought him great peace and purpose.

Mike had a lifelong passion for sports and competition. He earned championship awards and trophies playing city league softball and bowling. He participated in several charitable 5K and 10K races and enjoyed golfing. He was a devoted University of Michigan fan. For such a little man, he could be surprisingly boisterous during his Wolverine games.

Those who knew Mike will remember his fun-loving spirit and quick-witted humor. Though not the biggest man in stature, he possessed a heart larger than life. His kindness, loyalty, and generous spirit touched countless lives.

Mike is survived by his beloved wife, Terri Marsh of Battle Creek; sister, Geraldine Russell of Arizona; brothers, Kent Marsh of Georgia and Joe (Mary Ann) Reno of Kalamazoo; sister-in-law, Peggy Higgins of Battle Creek; beloved nieces and nephews; lifelong best friend of 74 years, Joe (Connie) Grestini of Battle Creek, and several other dear friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Anne Mae Marsh of Battle Creek; sister, Eileen Toops of Ohio; brother, Monte Marsh of Georgia; mother-in-law, Frances Thomas; brothers-in-law, Clayton "Jim" Higgins and Gary Brown; and sister-in-law, Evelyn (Russell) Gable, all of Battle Creek.

And in the words of Jesus:

"In my Father's house are many rooms........... I go to prepare a place for you." ~ John 14:2
