Michael Vearl Ray

Michael Vearl Ray, 70, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on April 15, 2026.

Michael was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who lived a life centered around family, faith, and simple joys. He was united in marriage to his beloved wife, Nancy Ray, on March 19, 1982, and together they built a life filled with love and lasting memories.

He was the proud father of four children: Mindy, Michelle, Hatty, and Michael Jr. His legacy continues through his 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense pride and happiness.

Michael had a deep love for his country and was especially fond of American flags. His faith was an important part of his life, and he found comfort and guidance in reading the Bible. He will be remembered for his storytelling, often sharing stories that brought laughter and connection to those around him. He enjoyed riding his bike around town. He loved to play frisbee with the grandkids. He also cherished quiet moments, especially sitting on the front porch watching thunderstorms roll in, and even enjoyed stepping out afterward to shower in the rain.

Michael was always willing to lend a helping hand, often helping his neighbors mow their lawns, and he found great enjoyment in working on cars.

Those who knew Michael will remember him as a man of strong values, a warm presence, and a storyteller at heart. He touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
