Michael Steven "Mike" White

Michael (Mike), S. White 66, of Battle Creek, died on Sunday, July 5, 2020 at Glenn Arbor Southwest Michigan Hospice from a recent diagnosis of cancer.

Mike was born on September 30,1953 in Battle Creek Mi. to Richard and Patricia (Adams) White. He attended Lakeview Schools, graduating in 1972. Mike proudly served in the Navy 1972-1975 , as a Fuel Aviator on the USS Hancock in Vietnam. Mike was employed as a Sales Manager for 84 Lumber and Reed's Lumber. Later he became a General Contractor and started and owned MS White Construction, building homes in Colorado and California.

Mike married Delores Dubuque in 1974 in Sacramental CA. They had two children, Tracie and Devin. Mike married Stacy Benevedes in 1989. They had two daughters Michelle and Madison. Surviving are his children, Tracie (Joe) Foglia, Devin (Katy) White, Michelle White, Madison White; seven grandchildren; sisters: Cathy Winer of Battle Creek, Connie (Bryan)Stover of Henderson NC; a brother, Tom (Lynn) White from Woodbridge VA; several nieces, nephews and good friends Jodi Shaver and Ralph Ryder. Mike was preceded in death by his parents Richard (Dick) and Patricia White; and his brother Richard (Rick) White.

Mike loved his children and grandchildren, basketball, Mountain Dew, adopting stray animals, and cinnamon toothpicks. He enjoyed reconnecting with fellow veterans he served with. Mike had a smile that would light up a room.

Military Honors by the Fort Custer Honor Guard and the U.S. Navy Honor Guard and a committal service will be held at Fort Custer National Cemetery 12:00 noon Monday, July 13, 2020.
