Mildred Evelyn "Millie" (Wilbur) Duff

Mildred Evelyn "Millie" (Wilbur) Duff, 88, of Battle Creek died Monday, July 2, 2018 at Sue's Loving Care in Kalamazoo.
Mildred was born May 15, 1930 in Traverse City, Michigan the daughter of Donald DeVere and Catherine (Terry) Wilbur. Millie grew up in Whitehall and Muskegon then moved to Battle Creek where she attended Battle Creek Central High School.
Millie was united in marriage to Robert John Duff on January 29, 1949 at First Baptist Church in Battle Creek. Sadly, she was preceded in death by Bob, her husband of 59 years on November 20, 2008. Surviving are five sons, Robert (Deborah) Duff, Gary (Lou Ann) Duff, Patrick (Teri) Duff all of Battle Creek, Michael (David Sparrow) Duff of Lexington, KY, Thomas Duff of Tampa, FL; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Donna Wilbur. In addition to her husband, Millie was also preceded in death by a son, William Duff; great-granddaughter, Alicia Duff; daughter-in-law, Cindy Duff; her parents; two sisters, Bessie Olsen, Louise Kelly and three brothers, Jackson Wilbur, Richard "Dick" Wilbur and Paul Cotton.
Millie attended Central Christian Church, and then the Harper Creek Baptist Church. She worked in the cafeteria for Harper Creek Schools and at the VA. Millie was an Avon representative, but her most rewarding job was working as a home health aide for Hospice. Millie was an avid reader, she loved to sing, read poetry and loved camping trips with her family. She enjoyed wintering in Florida with her husband. She will be remembered as a loving mom and grandmother.
Friends will be received 11:30 a.m. – 1:20 p.m. Monday, July 16, 2018 at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, followed by a memorial service at Fort Custer National Cemetery 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 16, 2018; where Millie will be laid to rest next to her husband, Bob.
