Mildred A. Lichty

Mildred Arlene Lichty, 87, of Springfield, went home to be with her Beloved Mother and Father, Sadie Sutara Baurs and Thomas Fred Holmes on June 2, 2015. Mildred was born December 31, 1927 in Battle Creek and went on to work for the Kellogg Company and later for Michigan National Bank, retiring in 1980.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, James Boyd Lichty; a sister, Loretta Eleanor Taylor; a brother, William Holmes; and a brother-in-law, Warren J. Taylor.

Mildred is survived by her daughter, Michelle Taylor of Springfield; two granddaughters, Amber Taylor and Kelly Taylor, both of Battle Creek; and four great-grandsons, Matthew, Julian, Adrianne and Kenyon. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Karen Parker, Tiffany Martinez, Brittany Wines and Mara for their dedication toward the caregiving of Mildred.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 5, 2015 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home and Cremation Care, where funeral services to celebrate Mildred's life will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 6, officiated by Rev. Robert G. Muirhead. Interment will follow at Ceresco Cemetery. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the Battle Creek VA or the American Cancer Society.
