Miriam E. Edwards, 83, of Battle Creek, died April 29, 2016. Miriam was born August 29, 1932 in Coldwater to Earnest Gertrude (Huegli) Rumens. She graduated from Coldwater High School 1948 and received her board certification as a histologist and was a supervisor at Regional Medical Laboratory (Bronson) for over 17 years. She married the love of her life, Loren Edwards on September 12, 1955 in Winona, MN.
Miriam enjoyed reading, walking and doing crossword puzzles. She took great pride in her appearance and got her hair and nails done every week.
Miriam is survived by her husband, Loren; son, Scott Edwards; two grandchildren, Geoffrey Edwards and Jonathon "Cody" Edwards; two nieces, Janeen Horn (Rumens) and Becky Boyd (Rumens) and a nephew, David Rumens. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Theodore Rumens.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 3rd, 2016 at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, where funeral services to celebrate Miriam's life will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 4th, officiated by Rev. Larry Gorlitz. Interment will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
