Molly Sue (Doran) Cahill, of San Diego, CA and formerly of Battle Creek, MI







Molly, age 86, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 9, 2014 with her children at her side. For the past seven years, she was living in Oceanside California, just North of San Diego. Molly S. Doran was born in St. Petersburg FL. in 1927. She was a 1944 graduate of Lakeview High School. Molly went on to graduate in 1948 from Northwestern University with a Bachelor of Science in Speech. After college, she began working at WBCK Radio where she met her husband of 38 years, Eugene F. Cahill, who died in 1988. Molly also worked at EPI Printers, where she retired in 1990 after 18 years of employment.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Doris Doran, her beloved sister, Georgianna, and a grandson, Brian Cahill. She is survived by her sons, John (Debbie), Kevin (Lisabeth), Brian (Robin), Barry, a daughter, Janet Smith, all living in California; and seven grandchildren. Molly was a long time member of St. Philip Catholic Church.


The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 19th at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home, Battle Creek. She will be interred next to her husband at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, MI in a private ceremony.
