Myrtle Kate Moore

Myrtle Kate Moore, 94, of Battle Creek, went to her heavenly home on Monday, October 9, 2023. 

Myrtle lived a Blessed life after receiving Jesus as her savior at the age of 16.  The daughter of Wister and Virgie (Fowler) Parks, she was born on March 3, 1929 and raised in Marion, VA.  She married the "Love of Her Life", Roy Moore when she was 21 and moved to Michigan where she lived out her life.  Myrtle loved God’s creation, singing and playing guitar, her family, her church family and many friends. 

Many have been blessed and inspired by her love and kindness.  She was known as “Mom Moore” to many who she knew.  She was a true prayer warrior.  Until we meet again, enjoy your heavenly reward.

Myrtle is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (KC) Jones; grandchildren, Tricia (Bob) Kidder, Jerimiah (Mariella) Jones, Nathan (Sarah) Jones; great-grandchildren; Kelcy Kidder, Tanner (Jess) Kidder, Hunter Jones, Harmony Jones and Lily Jones; two sisters, Charlotte Davis and Jean Sheets; and a special nephew, Timothy Kerns.  Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband, Roy; her son, Roy David Moore; a sister, Mildred Parks; and a brother, James Parks. 

A memorial service to celebrate Myrtle’s life will be 12:00 p.m., Saturday, October 21, 2023 at the Rhema Word Outreach Center, 21342 Capital Ave NE, Battle Creek, MI 49017.  A luncheon will follow.  Memorial donations may be made to the Rhema Word Outreach Center.  Arrangements by the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care.  Personal messages for the family may be placed  here at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.
