Nadine R. Gifford

Nadine R. Gifford, 97, of Battle Creek, passed away May 30, 2018 at Drew's Assisted Living in Coldwater. Nadine was born February 2, 1921 in Delhi, Iowa to Clifford and Elizabeth (Michels) Jackson. She graduated from high school and worked at various places, including Rex Movie Theatre, Montgomery Wards, Duplex, the Bronson Battle Creek Gift Shop and Post Cereals.

Nadine was a member at the First United Methodist Church and the Baby Fold at the church. She volunteered at Community Hospital and B.C.H.S. for over 50 years and was involved in the P.T.A. when her children were young. Nadine enjoyed knitting, gardening and baking. She was a generous donor to Charitable Union.

Nadine is survived by her daughter, Bobbette (Dave) Miller; three sons, Michael Gifford, Brian (June) Gifford and Ronald (Mary) Gifford; 12 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.

Nadine married Robert Gifford in 1942. He sadly preceded her in death in 2010. Nadine is also preceded in death by her sister, Geraldine Gray; two brothers, Lewis Jackson and Harold Jackson; a daughter-in-law, Robin Gifford and a granddaughter, Katie Sevigny.

A memorial visitation to celebrate Nadine's life will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care. A graveside service will follow on Wednesday, June 13th at 11:00 a.m. at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Bronson Battle Creek Hospital Auxiliary or Charitable Union. Personal messages for the family may be placed at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.
