Nancy Frances (Johnston) Johnson, age 70, of Hickory Corners and formerly of Richland and Mason, died peacefully on Tuesday afternoon, October 28, 2014.  She was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on December 4, 1943, the loving daughter of Herb B. and Della M. (Wilson) Johnston and graduated from Loy Norrix High School.  Nancy was a very nurturing and loving woman who adored babies & children.  She owned and operated Nancy's Nursery for more than 17 years.
  
     Nancy grew up in the Milwood neighborhood (Kalamazoo) and had many friendships from that area that lasted a lifetime.  She moved to Gull Lake in the late 1960's.  Nancy also lived in the Flushing and Galesburg areas, and then returned to Gull Lake in the late 1980's.
     No matter where Nancy lived, she always took pleasure in the friendships she developed.  Her favorite pastimes were visiting with family, friends and neighbors sharing stories, playing euchre and telling jokes.
     Nancy married the "Love of Her Life", David Johnson in Kalamazoo on February 14, 1979; he survives.  She is also survived by her daughter, Melinda (Jim Chadwick) Titus of Richland; her son, David C. (Dr. Katie) Johnson Jr. of Texas; her grandchildren, Jenni Landers, Jimmy Chadwick, Katie Chadwick, Nolan Johnson and Mason Johnson; her sister, Janet (Arthur) Lee of Bellaire, Michigan; her former husband, John W. Titus of Arizona; nieces & nephews, B.J. (Lisa) Lee, Mitts (Darsi) Lee, Elizabeth (Dr. Steve) Knowlton, Janny (Paul) Wojdylak, Sandy (Purton) Selig, Michael Purton and many great-nieces & nephews.
  
     Over the years Nancy enjoyed spending time on the beach at the Gull Lake Country Club sunning, visiting and watching the sailboat races.  She also enjoyed playing cards, golfing, gardening, perusing the computer, anything covered in or made of chocolate and crocheting blankets for her babies, but most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.
     The family will receive friends 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, November 7th and 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 8th at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Richland Chapel 9170 East D. Ave (M-89) Richland where funeral services to celebrate Nancy's Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Mark W. Jennings of the First Presbyterian Church of Richland, officiating.  Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Kalamazoo.  A luncheon will follow, details to be announced at the service.
